Laâyoune Port Closed Indefinitely to Prevent COVID-19 Resurgence in Morocco

To avoid a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the local authorities of the city of Laâyoune have decided, on Saturday, to close the port of the city until further notice.
The port of Laâyoune will be closed "until further notice" in order to "avoid a second wave of the new Coronavirus", announced the wilaya of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region on Saturday.
In a statement, the wilaya of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region ordered the closure of this port "due to the epidemiological situation in the city following the spread of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) and in order to avoid a second wave of this pandemic".
This region has recorded 874 cases of infection since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, after the registration of 2 new contaminations.
