Kuwaiti and Moroccan Sentenced in Marrakech Villa Pool Death Case

The court of first instance in Marrakech sentenced a Kuwaiti and a Moroccan on Friday to seven months and ten months in prison, respectively, for the murder of a 22-year-old Moroccan woman, found drowned in the swimming pool of a villa in Sidi Brahim, Marrakech.
Seven other Kuwaiti defendants and two Moroccan women were sentenced to four months in prison with a suspended sentence and two months in prison with a suspended sentence, respectively, in this case.
The facts date back to April 14, when eight Kuwaitis, accompanied by these Moroccan women, including a minor, spent a drunken evening in a villa in the Sidi Brahim oasis, which turned into a tragedy with the drowning death of a 20-year-old woman.
The Menara-Marrakech section of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) wished for a thorough investigation into this case and the arrest of the owner of the villa and its manager.
The association believes that the acts attributed to the accused are serious enough and should not be classified as misdemeanors, but as a crime of human trafficking, the defendants being accused of murder and rape of a minor.
