Kuwaiti National and Moroccan Manager Face Trial in Marrakech Pool Death Case

The Kuwaitis and Moroccans suspected of being involved in the death of a 22-year-old Moroccan woman after her fall into a villa pool in Ouahat Sidi Brahim in Marrakech will appear in court next Friday.

On Friday, the court of first instance in Marrakech postponed the trial of the accused in the case of the death of a young girl under mysterious circumstances inside a luxury villa in the city of palm trees. They will appear in court next Friday.

Several individuals were arrested following the death of the 22-year-old girl. After their appearance before the court of first instance in Marrakech, the public prosecutor decided to prosecute a Kuwaiti national and a Moroccan national manager of the tourist complex in custody. 7 other Kuwaiti individuals are under judicial control with an obligation to pay a bail of 10,000 dirhams each. Three young Moroccan women are also under judicial control with a bail of 5,000 dirhams each. They are accused of seducing a minor under 18, indecent assault without violence, corruption, incitement to prostitution, protection of the practice of prostitution and drug use.

The charges against all the accused are not commensurate with the acts attributed to them, as talking about indecent assault on a minor without violence is not consistent, given that rape and sexual exploitation of a minor are considered violence under international human rights law, estimates the Moroccan Association of Human Rights, Menara section. It will add that the referral decision omitted and excluded the suspicion of a crime of human trafficking, which constitutes a serious violation of human rights and national law that criminalizes it, especially since some of its foundations are established.
