King Mohammed VI Unveils Vision for New Moroccan Development Model

The new development model of Morocco was widely addressed by King Mohammed VI in his speech to the nation on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People.
With a language of truth, the Sovereign addressed the Moroccan people. In a speech to the nation, Mohammed VI addressed the new social pact in which he engages the Kingdom. He has resolved to place the Moroccan citizen at the center of the development process, which is the main purpose. In this regard, he provided clarification on this new development model, which calls for the involvement of all the driving forces of the nation.
"Our ambition is that, in its new version, this development model will constitute a solid foundation for the emergence of a new social contract with unanimous adherence, namely that of the State and its institutions, that of the driving forces of the nation including the private sector, political parties and trade unions, associations, as well as that of all citizens," he said.
For the Sovereign, the renewal of the development model as well as the projects and programs launched under his impetus aim to advance Morocco on the path of progress, to improve the living conditions of its citizens and to reduce social and spatial inequalities.
This model, the King will say, will be authentically Moroccan.
