Morocco’s King Appoints Benmoussa to Lead New Development Commission

Chakib Benmoussa has been appointed by King Mohammed VI to chair the special commission tasked with developing the new development model likely to improve the daily lives of Moroccans.
One of the objectives of this commission is to ensure the transition to a new development model. To succeed in this challenge, the Moroccan sovereign has appointed on Tuesday one of his trusted men, Chakib Benmoussa, former Minister of the Interior and current Moroccan Ambassador to France, to chair the commission.
Wishing to raise the Kingdom to another level of development, King Mohammed VI had called in October 2017 for a reflection on the national development model, after noting before Parliament that the current model "has proved today unable to meet the pressing demands and growing needs of citizens". Since then, the sovereign has constantly mentioned the advent of this Special Commission in his speeches.
