King Mohammed VI Strengthens Ties with Moroccan Diaspora, Emphasizes Their Role in National Development

King Mohammed VI is counting on Moroccans of the World to build the new Morocco with him. To this end, he demonstrates his proximity to them by giving the Government instructions so that they can benefit from quality services, commensurate with their attachment to their country and their contribution to its development.

The contribution of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) to the development of Morocco is no longer to be demonstrated. It is paramount for King Mohammed VI. In this regard, MREs have become a "cornerstone" for the Kingdom, emphasizes Le matin. These protégés of the Sovereign benefit from services worthy of their rank. To pay them back, the King has instituted a day dedicated to them since 2003. It is celebrated on August 10 of each year and is a propitious occasion to strengthen the ties of the Moroccan community abroad with their country of origin. Moroccans residing abroad are at the heart of the King’s concerns, who each time gives his high directives to the Government, so that it listens to them and offers them quality services, commensurate with their attachment to their country and their contribution to its development.

The Government, in accordance with the royal directives, does not fail to offer them quality services and to support them in their administrative procedures in Morocco and in the host countries, the newspaper points out. We remember the King Mohammed VI’s highly applauded speech in 2015, on the Throne Feast, which had called for an end to certain practices in some consulates that did not favor the MREs.

The other equally important point raised by the media is related to the efforts made by the public authorities to offer quality services to the MREs, which are also visible during the "Marhaba" Operation, conducted by the "Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity". Thanks to this Operation, the transit of MREs is more fluid and the travel conditions less painful.

In addition to strengthening social protection, the Ministry is carrying out other actions aimed at helping vulnerable social groups (abandoned women, unaccompanied minors, retirees, the elderly, prisoners, etc.)

The new Basic Law has also highlighted the role of this community in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the society of origin and those of reception, in addition to its recognition of the dual belonging of the members of this community, particularly the new generations, concludes the same source.
