King Mohammed VI’s Royal Passion: Hunting Across Morocco’s Diverse Landscapes

Like jet skiing or other sports, hunting remains a real passion for King Mohammed VI, wherever he is. In Skhirat, Marrakech or Fez, the country’s natural diversity offers a multitude of favorable sites for the practice of this discipline.
According to the daily Al Ayam, the Sovereign begins his day by checking the weather conditions, in order to avoid any mishap, especially since the hunting season takes place in winter.
Known for his know-how and expertise in shooting, the instigator of the Skhirat coup, General Mohamed Medbouh, had taken care to instill the secrets of hunting and shooting to the monarch, the newspaper said.
More often, the Sovereign is accompanied by his son Moulay Hassan, his Personal Advisor, Fouad Ali Himma, or the princes Moulay Ismail, Moulay Driss and Moulay Abdellah.
At times, Mohammed VI does not hesitate to invite Emirs from the Gulf countries to join the hunting party, during their stay in Morocco, in addition to national celebrities from the sports or artistic scene.
The daily adds that, for security reasons, the security services of the Royal Palace as well as those of the Royal Gendarmerie proceed to secure the sites, in order to prepare the ground for the arrival of the Sovereign.
