King Mohammed VI Pushes for Rapid Development of Fnideq Industrial Zone

King Mohammed VI has given instructions to the authorities of Fnideq for the projects of the city’s industrial zone to be carried out as quickly as possible. The prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq is already on the ground.
Following the royal instructions, the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq is taking actions for the realization of the investment projects of the industrial zone of Fnideq, reports Al Akhbar. These include supporting the SMEs and SMIs established in the region, developing an industrial zone and accelerating the implementation of an economic activity zone near Bab Sebta... The aim is to make this zone operational for the reception of the first imports of products as early as next January.
This week, the investment projects were the subject of discussions during a meeting organized by the prefecture. On this occasion, it reiterated the commitment of the public authorities to support them by providing the necessary services, but also by ensuring the resolution of the problems that investors may face.
The public authorities have released an envelope of 160 million dirhams to finance the basic infrastructure necessary for the industrial zone project. Another budget, the amount of which has not been communicated for the time being, has been devoted to investment projects that would create many jobs. Not to mention the various incentives that could be offered to support the investment dynamic.
Already, large companies, including international ones, have expressed their desire to invest in the M’diq-Fnideq region. They have filed authorization requests with the relevant services. Meetings of local officials will be held next week to study projects and approve them quickly.
The project not only aims to create jobs, but also to revitalize the city’s economy, which is heavily dependent on smuggling from Ceuta.
