King Mohammed VI Pardons 486 Inmates in Morocco for Youth Day Celebration

King Mohammed VI has granted pardon to 486 inmates convicted by various Moroccan courts as part of the Commemoration of the Youth Day celebration.
According to the Ministry of Justice, this includes 7 inmates pardoned for the remainder of their prison or detention sentence, 379 inmates who benefit from a remission of their prison or detention sentence, and 3 inmates who have their life sentence commuted to a fixed-term sentence.
As for the inmates who have been granted the royal pardon and are now free, they number 97 people and are also divided into different categories.
36 inmates have been pardoned for their prison sentence or the remainder thereof, while 12 benefit from the pardon on the prison sentence with the fine maintained. In addition, 47 inmates have been pardoned for the fine sentence, and two people for both the prison sentence and the fine.
