King Mohammed VI Mourns Passing of Moroccan Singer Naïma Samih

King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences to the family of the Moroccan artist Naïma Samih, who died on Saturday after a long illness.
In this message, the Sovereign expressed his "great affliction" at this loss, which he described as a loss not only for the family, but also for the national artistic landscape.
Naïma Samih was recognized for her contribution to authentic Arab song. The King highlighted her "melodious voice," her "distinctive timbre," and her "high artistic sense." Her repertoire, described as "musical jewels," is now an integral part of Morocco’s musical heritage.
The royal message expresses condolences to the deceased’s family, the artistic community, and her admirers. For the Moroccan sovereign, the passing of Naïma Samih is a trial against which "divine will is implacable."
The Sovereign also highlighted Naïma Samih’s personal qualities, including her "sincere patriotism" and her "unwavering attachment to the glorious Alaouite throne."
