King Mohammed VI in an AI-generated photo: Moroccans uneasy
A photo of King Mohammed VI has gone viral on social media since Sunday. Moroccan internet users have mixed feelings about this image. While some believe it is an artificial intelligence-generated work, others claim it is a recent photo of the monarch.
In the photo, we see a smiling Mohammed VI, dressed in a beige suit. The image has been widely shared by Moroccan internet users who have expressed their joy at seeing the Sovereign looking in good health.
For the majority of internet users, this photo published by the young Moroccan designer and graphic artist Taha Houssini, was taken recently. But in reality, the image has been generated by artificial intelligence. "I created this photo out of love and at a time when all Moroccans need to see the Sovereign," Houssini confided to the Arabic-language media Goud.
The graphic artist said he was happy and proud to have achieved his goal by creating this image. "My goal is to make people smile, and that’s the most important thing," he said.
