King Mohammed VI Creates Moroccan Jewish Heritage Organizations, Spanish Jews Applaud

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE) has expressed its "congratulations" and "thanks" to King Mohammed VI for the creation of three public bodies in charge of defending Judaism in Morocco and abroad.
"We received with great joy and emotion the message broadcast by the Royal Cabinet of Morocco in which it announces the creation of three organizations in charge of protecting the heritage of the culture and traditions of the Jewish communities of Morocco, thus promoting initiatives of coexistence and peace between two peoples who share a common past and a future full of hope," the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FCJE) said in a letter to which Europa Press had access.
The Spanish Jews welcome this decision by King Mohammed VI which, according to them, "demonstrates his commitment to the Jewish communities" and "is in line with the provisions of the European Union aimed at protecting and promoting Jewish life in Europe". "Morocco has taken an important step in this direction, becoming an example to be followed by other countries and contributing to creating a framework for reunion and coexistence," the Federation specified.
