Kickboxing Star Badr Hari Faces Career-Ending Ban After Failed Doping Test

Badr Hari tested positive for a prohibited substance. The Moroccan champion risks several years of suspension.
The kickboxer had been subjected to an anti-doping test during his fight against Hesdy Gerges last year. The latter was also tested positive.
Hari and Gerges both risk up to four years of suspension, consequently meaning a premature end to their careers.
The Glory kickboxing organization, with which the two champions are under contract, refused to comment on the matter, as did Badr Hari’s manager, no doubt awaiting the court’s decision with apprehension.
During the fight in March 2018, Hari had won the victory by judges’ decision. The fight, organized during the Glory 51 kickboxing gala in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was considered the Moroccan’s big comeback after his defeat a year and a half earlier against Rico Verhoeven.
