Kickboxing Champion's Violent Past Resurfaces: Badr Hari Sentenced for Domestic Assault

The kickboxer Badr Hari has been convicted for acts of violence. A new case that adds to a long list of legal incidents for the Moroccan athlete, already known for other cases of violence.

Badr Hari has been sentenced to 24 hours of community service for acts of violence against his ex-partner, Daphne. The sentence, now final, also includes a fine, a one-year ban on contacting the victim, and the payment of compensation.

The facts date back to 2024 and occurred in Amsterdam. One of the incidents took place at the home of his ex-partner, while Badr Hari was dropping off their children. He was accused of hitting her in the face in their presence. Another assault allegedly occurred on the public highway. These acts had led to his arrest and custody for three days in February 2025.

This is not the first time that the one who is now based in Morocco has been convicted for acts of violence. In 2015, he had received a prison sentence for several assaults, the most publicized of which was that of businessman Koen Everink during an evening at the Amsterdam Arena.

The Dutch Public Prosecutor’s Office chose to deal with this new case during a closed-door hearing, a decision made, according to a spokesperson, to protect the victim’s interests. The sentence was handed down on September 11 last year in the form of a criminal order. As Badr Hari did not object within the one-week deadline, the conviction has become final.
