Kenitra Cemetery Mystery: Investigation Launched After Rumors of Buried Man ’Coming Back to Life’

A rumor has swelled around the death of an individual buried a few days ago in a cemetery in Kenitra and who would have come back to life. An investigation has been opened.
On the web, rumors about an individual buried for six days in the Ridouane cemetery and returned to life have gone viral. Citizens claimed to have heard the dead person from his tomb and with a sufficiently audible voice, reciting the Shahada, thus making believe that the deceased may have been buried alive, reports Al Akhbar. Some would have degraded the tomb, trying to assist a living dead.
The family members of the deceased were informed of these actions and immediately went to the scene. A confrontation between them and those trying to get him out of his tomb broke out. Alerted, the local authorities went down to the scene. On their arrival, they ordered the restoration of the tomb before making sure that the individual was indeed dead.
In a statement to the press, the deceased’s family said the person buried was a 77-year-old man who had long suffered from an illness that affected his heart and brain. It assures that his death is natural. Information confirmed by the medical report certifying the death. In addition, his burial took place in full respect of the Muslim ritual, adds the family.
The rumors surrounding the death of the septuagenarian prompted the authorities to ask the deceased’s family if they wished to exhume the body for an autopsy, but they refused. An investigation has nevertheless been opened.
