Judge Orders Confrontations in Casablanca Rape Case Involving French Lawyer

As part of the in-depth investigation into the alleged rape of a French lawyer in Casablanca, the investigating judge proceeded, a week ago, to confrontations between the accused, Kamil Bennis, M’hammed Alj and Saad Slaoui, and between the latter and the witnesses.
After detailed interrogations, the investigating judge heard last Thursday several witnesses who had participated in the evening organized at the home of Bennis-Alj-Slaoui, where the alleged sexual assault is said to have taken place, reports Assabah. The victim, a young French lawyer, confirmed during her hearing that she had been drugged and raped. The three rich kids, Kamil Bennis, M’hammed Alj and Saad Slaoui, are accused of this crime.
The three suspects, held in preventive detention in the Oukacha prison, are also accused of assault and battery on the victim’s fiancé. The investigating judge organized a confrontation between the latter, the accused and the witnesses. Some witnesses had told the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) that the fiancé would have struck a friend and slapped his companion who would have sat on the latter’s knees.
For their part, the accused denied any aggression towards the fiancé, specifying that they had only calmed the ardor of the fiancé who had a violent argument with his companion. During their hearing before the BNPJ, Kamil Bennis, M’hammed Alj and Saad Slaoui had also rejected the accusations of rape on the French lawyer, claiming that the alleged victim, under the influence of drugs, would have tried to seduce certain young men present at the party.
As for Kamil Bennis, the organizer of the evening, he admitted to having had a consensual sexual relationship with the lawyer, but denied having drugged her. For the moment, the three suspects remain in detention. The investigating judge will rule on the charges once he has completed the confrontations and analyzed the collected testimonies.
