Jack Lang Praises Muslim Contributions to France as Ramadan Begins

Jack Lang gives Muslims the place that is rightfully theirs in French society. In a message of good wishes on the occasion of the start of the month of Ramadan, the president of the Arab World Institute (IMA) affirmed that "without the Muslims, France would not be what it is".

A short message of less than two minutes in which, the former French Minister of Culture comes to remind the contribution that the Muslims of France bring to the influence of the country. While expressing his wishes and fraternal greetings to all Muslims wherever they may be, Jack Lang stressed that those in France bring to this country "their talent, their energy, their combativeness and their imagination".

"Without the Muslims, France would not be what it is. And I really want to say that we continue to count on this common intelligence that associates us with each other, whatever our beliefs," he said in this message posted on YouTube.

The president of the IMA expressed the wish that this sacred month will continue "to advance in France, the values of tolerance, respect, friendship". France has between five and six million Muslims, which makes Islam the second religion in this country and the French Muslim community the largest in Europe.
