Italian Court Sentences Two to Life for 2017 Murder of Moroccan Nationals

Two years after the shooting deaths of two Moroccan nationals, an Italian court in the north of the country has sentenced the two perpetrators, Manuel Ferrari and Gianluca Forlaneli, to life imprisonment.
According to the newspaper Eco di Bergamo, the two individuals are involved in the murder of Nabil El Karfi and El Moursali Abdenassar, two young Moroccans aged 25 and 23 respectively, in July 2017 in Bariano, on the banks of the Sirio river.
Known for a high concentration of drug and drug traffickers, the town of Bariano is also famous for armed robberies. According to the investigation, the two Moroccans had been the victims of an armed robbery before the situation escalated.
During the trial, the public prosecutor had requested a 28-year prison sentence against the two Italians. The judges ultimately decided to sentence them to life imprisonment.
