Israeli Tourism Operators Scout Eastern Morocco Ahead of Direct Flights Launch

In preparation for the launch of direct flights connecting Morocco and Israel, a large delegation of Israeli tourism operators carried out on Wednesday a field visit in the east of the Kingdom to observe the assets of the region.
This important visit by Israeli operators, indicates Le360, aims to pave the way so that Morocco can receive 200,000 Israelis with at least one Moroccan descendant settled in Morocco.
Most of Moroccan origin, these 26 Israeli tourism operators began the field visit with the Marchica lagoon, the port of Béni Nsar, the Nador-Al Aroui international airport, as well as the Koubba (tomb) of a Jewish saint called Joseph, who was buried in the suburbs of Nador. After this stage, the focus was on Al Hoceima, a city that strongly seduced the Israeli visitors, according to Youssef Zaki, president of the Regional Tourism Council of the East, contacted by Le360.
The hotel chain of the seaside resort of Saïdia, the golf course as well as the football academy were the points of attraction of the Israeli visitors before Debdou in the Province of Taourirt, the city that had a large number of Moroccans of Jewish faith, before their departure to Israel. Oujda also welcomed the amazed operators, who were impressed by the alleys of the old medina, and some of the historical monuments of the capital of the Oriental region. At each stage, a detailed presentation was made.
The air link between Morocco and Israel announced after Ramadan by the head of the Kingdom’s representation office in Israel, Abderrahim Bayoud, could increase the annual number of Israeli tourists from 70,000 visitors to 200,000.
