Israeli Security Adviser Heads to Morocco for Talks with King Mohammed VI

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed the arrival in Morocco of his security adviser, Meir Ben-Shabbat.
Meir Ben-Shabbat, Israel’s national security adviser and national security chief of staff, is leading the Israeli delegation traveling to Morocco on Tuesday with Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of outgoing US President Donald Trump, reports Times of Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that upon their arrival in Rabat, the two personalities will meet with King Mohammed VI. He also asked Mr. Kushner to convey his warmest greetings and the greetings of the entire people of Israel to the sovereign and the Moroccan people for the historic, courageous decision regarding the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel.
King Mohammed VI had announced this decision on December 10, when the United States recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. Mr. Netanyahu hailed this decision, which he said he had worked for. "I’ve always worked for this," he said during a Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony, adding that the Moroccan and Jewish peoples have warm relations.
"Hundreds of thousands of Moroccan Jews have come to Israel and they have formed a human bridge of sympathy, respect, tenderness and love between our two countries and our two peoples," the Prime Minister added.
