Israeli Officials Apologize for Map Error Omitting Western Sahara from Morocco

Israeli officials have apologized profusely after the appearance of a map of Morocco excluding Moroccan Sahara in a video message from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Following the appearance of the truncated map of Morocco, Moroccan Jews expressed their anger and demanded apologies from the senior Israeli official. Israeli officials have thus contacted the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to apologize.
On Twitter, Edy Cohen, Netanyahu’s adviser, also a journalist, academic and researcher at the Begin Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, said that recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara "is not a favor, but a right".
For his part, Hassan Kaiba, spokesman for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tried to provide clarification. He explained that the controversial map "is very old, and there was no new map available at the time that did not include the line between Morocco and its Sahara". "The Moroccan flag that appeared next to Prime Minister Netanyahu in the video indicates the deep friendship between Tel Aviv and Rabat," he said.
