Israeli Foreign Minister to Make Historic Visit to Morocco in Late July

Yair Lapid, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, has confirmed that he will visit Morocco for an official visit, the first for a senior Israeli diplomat.
Speaking at a Yesh Atid party meeting at the Knesset, Y. Lapid said the "historic" trip will take place after the resumption of direct flights between Rabat and Tel Aviv at the end of the month.
To recall, the start of these direct flights is scheduled for Sunday, July 25, 2021. Two planes from Israeli airlines will land in Marrakech, with nearly 400 Israeli tourists on board. They will make the Tel Aviv-Marrakech trip on two planes from the El Al and Israir companies.
"After my trip to Morocco, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, will come to visit Israel to open a liaison office," Lapid said.
According to AXIOS, the visit of the Israeli Foreign Minister to Morocco would take place between August 10 and 11. "Negotiations" are underway to transform the liaison offices into "full-fledged embassies," the American news site also revealed.
