Israeli Foreign Minister Lapid Visits Historic Casablanca Synagogue, Honors Moroccan Royalty

During his visit to Morocco, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yair Lapid, visited the Beth-El synagogue in Casablanca, an emblematic place of the Moroccan Jewish community. He implored the Almighty to welcome Kings Hassan II and Mohammed V in His holy abode.
Yair Lapid also prayed for the protection of King Mohammed VI so that God may continue to bless his actions at the head of the kingdom. After performing the prayers at the Beth-El synagogue, the Israeli minister and the members of the official delegation accompanying him, including the Minister of Labor, Meir Cohen and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Knesset (Israeli parliament), Ram Ben Barak, were presented with a copy of the Hebrew version of the book "The Houses of Life - Beth Ha Hayim".
Presented by the Secretary General of the Council of the Israelite Community of Morocco, Serge Berdugo, it is a work that illustrates and documents the rehabilitation operation of Jewish cemeteries and holy sites in Morocco, initiated in 2010 by King Mohammed VI. In total, this operation has made it possible to restore 170 cemeteries and renovate nearly 14,000 tombs in 10 years.
