Israeli Financial Regulator Attends IOSCO Conference in Morocco

The president of the Israeli Capital Market Authority, Anat Guetta, is participating from October 17 to 19 in Marrakech, at the 47th annual conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
A meeting of great importance that will allow the Israeli economist to present her views on "open finance, financial technology and cryptocurrencies, in addition to their impact, benefits and risks," informs a press release published by the Israel Securities Authority. Organized for the first time in Morocco, this conference annually brings together regulators from various financial markets and other industry professionals.
President of the Israel Securities Authority since 2018, Anat Guetta believes that technological innovation has its place in financial markets and will make it possible to offer the same "financial opportunities for the public, participating companies and entrepreneurs." Moreover, in this area, Israel has already set an example "by granting the first licenses to four financial technology companies that will be the pioneers of the financial revolution of consumption in Israel," the press release specifies.
Anat Guetta calls for "making an effort to create a global space that allows, on the one hand, legitimate activity, and, on the other hand, manages the risks associated with this activity." This conference in Marrakech on the International Organization of Securities Commissions is "the right place to build international cooperation in this regard," she stressed.
As a leading institution in the field of financial regulation, IOSCO works closely with the Group of Twenty (G20), the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
