Israeli Agritech Firm SupPlant Expands Smart Farming Solutions to Morocco

An Israeli company specializing in "precision agriculture" and "smart agriculture" called SupPlant has announced its intention to expand to Morocco.
In a press release, the company expressed its interest in the Moroccan market, displaying its intention to offer Moroccan farmers a new technology called Smart Agriculture, reports Challenge.
In partnership with the Moroccan company Rahatech, SupPlant’s offer aims to enable farmers to improve their productivity while reducing costs, particularly in terms of water consumption.
The proposed technology focuses on "changing the basic concept of irrigation methods and is based on the real and instantaneous needs of plants" and "it has proven to save water on a global scale while improving productivity and yields," said the SupPlant management, stating that this technique works thanks to a perfectly customized irrigation protocol in 6 weeks.
The Israeli company claims to install very precise and reliable sensors at the level of the fruit, leaf, stem and trunk, as well as in the soil at different depths, to collect the plant’s real water needs every 10 minutes, depending on its growth stage.
SupPlant now has a database of about 3 billion data points collected in an agricultural region of 24,000 hectares and more than 30 crops. Under the supervision of a team of agronomist engineers, this data, as well as the data collected in real time on the farms, are entered into the SupPlant algorithm.
