Israeli Agritech Firm Brings AI-Powered Fruit Yield Estimation to Morocco

The Israeli company Fruitspec, specialized in the agri-food industry, is setting up shop in Morocco. It is thus arriving with its highly accurate system for estimating fruit tree yields.
Concretely, the new entrant helps fruit production players, from producers to traders, to obtain better prices by optimizing the orchard’s yield according to market demand, thanks to decision-making tools and data accessible on a computer platform.
The company indeed has a unique technology, based on hyperspectral imaging cameras connected to an AI (artificial intelligence) algorithm and a connected portal, allowing it to instantly measure the size of the fruits on the trees and their evolution throughout the cultivation cycle. Two major demonstration days are planned in Morocco at the end of the month.
According to the press release from the management, the Moroccan subsidiary has been entrusted to Marouane Benmouama, former North and West Africa Director of the Israeli agricultural technology giant Netafim, also inventor and world leader in micro-irrigation technologies.
