Israel-Morocco Ties Take Flight: First Direct Tel Aviv to Marrakech Route Launches

An aircraft from the Israeli airline Israir will land in Marrakech on Sunday, July 25th. This is the first direct flight between Morocco and Israel.
An Israir commercial flight from Tel Aviv will land in Marrakech tomorrow, Sunday, for the first time since the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel last December. This flight will mark the arrival of the first Israeli tourists in the kingdom.
"The flights to Morocco would take about five hours each way and that ticket prices would start at $499 for a round trip," El Al announced in a statement. This airline will operate flights from Tel Aviv to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.
Last week, Siham Rida, president of the provincial tourism council of Ouarzazate, and Simon Haim Skira, founding president of the Israel-Morocco Friendship Association, signed a partnership agreement for the 2021/2022 year. The two parties expect to welcome 50,000 Israeli tourists by the end of 2021 and 200,000 Israeli tourists each year. As for industry professionals, they are betting on welcoming 300,000 Israeli tourists to regain financial health.
