Israel Appoints New Head of Liaison Office in Morocco Amid Gaza Tensions

While relations between Morocco and Israel are going through a turbulent period due to the conflict that has been bloodying Gaza since October 2023, a change of course is looming at the head of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat.
According to information obtained by Maroc Hebdo from official sources in Tel Aviv, Marc Attali, currently minister plenipotentiary at the Israeli embassy in France, is expected to take the reins of this diplomatic representation.
He will thus succeed David Govrin, whose term has been marked by tensions related to the Gaza war and the sexual harassment allegations that weighed on him.
Despite persistent rumors of closure due to the security risks posed by the conflict, the Israeli liaison office in Rabat continues its activities, the same source assures. However, at this stage, only Moroccan personnel are operational there.
