Iran Eyes Hervé Renard as National Soccer Team Coach Amid Speculation

Repeatedly denied in the past, new rumors suggest the imminent arrival of Morocco’s coach, Hervé Renard, in Iran.
Local sources including tehrantimes.com claim that the coach of the Atlas Lions would have reached an agreement with the Iranian Football Federation to become their new coach.
The same source recalls that the Melli Team has been without a coach since the departure of Portuguese Carlos Queiroz at the end of January. Moreover, Renard’s presence in Asia recently has led to the belief that he will soon join an Asian team, and why not Iran.
This rumor had already circulated a few weeks ago before being denied by the main interested party and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) who had stated that the French coach’s contract runs until 2020 and that the current objective is to win the next Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Hervé Renard would like to try his luck again in the French Ligue 1 championship after a failure in 2015 with the Lille team where he had only stayed for 5 months.
