Interpol-Wanted Moroccan Drug Baron Arrested in Casablanca Traffic Stop

A Moroccan, a drug baron, was arrested in Casablanca after committing a traffic-related offense. The suspect, holder of a Dutch residence card, was the subject of an international arrest warrant for drug trafficking.
The checks carried out by the agents after the arrest of the defendant in Casablanca allowed them to discover that he was the subject of an international arrest warrant for drug trafficking. Equipped with his Dutch residence card, the Moroccan managed to enter Ceuta, from where he reached the city of Tangier by boat, relays El Faro de Ceuta.
According to police sources, the suspect, while under an international arrest warrant issued by the Moroccan judicial authorities, had been arrested in Spain in 2000, before managing to escape later. Originally from Al Hoceima, the defendant, named M.M., has been involved in international drug trafficking since the 1990s.
