Interpol Fugitive Arrested in Spain for 2012 Hashish Smuggling Operation

A woman of Moroccan origin suspected of having introduced more than 4 kg of hashish resin into Spain has been arrested. She had been wanted by Interpol for several years.
The Spanish police arrested a 45-year-old woman in Almeria who had been wanted by Interpol for several years. She is accused of having transported 4300 grams of hashish resin from Morocco and smuggled it into Spain. The facts date back to December 2012, reports Europa Press.
Her arrest was made possible thanks to another arrest. The Moroccan police arrested in Tangier another woman who was trying to leave the city for Spain. At her arrest, she was carrying several cannabis capsules attached to her body.
Preliminary police investigations show that the arrested woman was carrying out the orders of the fugitive who had been wanted for eight years. This feat of the Moroccan police stems from data analysis and filtering. The police were able to achieve conclusive results after an exhaustive work of several days. The location and arrest of the fugitive was therefore a logical consequence.
Once arrested, the fugitive was made available to the justice system, which must decide on her possible extradition to her country of origin, Morocco.
