Interior Minister Warns New Local Officials on Land Management Rules
The new commune presidents are called upon to strictly apply the rules of good governance contained in the law relating to the real estate of local authorities. This, to avoid the spoliation of municipal real estate.
This law imposes on local elected officials the use of competition as a general principle in the operations of disposal or rental of municipal property, says the daily Al Akhbar, stressing that the Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftit, published a circular to warn the new local elected officials against the excesses related to land.
Also, this text defines the conditions for granting the authorization for temporary occupation of the public domain on the basis of a specifications (management of parking lots and garages) while restricting the contracts concluded by direct agreement.
Thus, the realization of the inventory of land assets, the updating of their data and the regularization of their legal situation with the land registry services, must be carried out as soon as possible, the authority points out.
To this end, a global program to generalize the land registry regime is being developed. A computer system called "Atlas cartography" which explains the locations of these properties, their area, their land title and their content has been set up.
