Morocco’s New Cabinet Required to Disclose Assets, Court of Auditors Demands

The Court of Auditors is calling on the new ministers and their chief of staff to declare their assets. Their predecessors in the El Othmani government will also have to undergo this exercise.
Ministers of the Akhannouch government and chief of staff, outgoing ministers and chief of staff of the previous government... all are invited to declare their assets to the Court of Auditors, reports Al Massae. They must declare their real estate and movable property, bank deposits, securities, shares and other financial assets. Ministers are also required to declare inherited property, vehicles, works of art that the taxpayers own, share or manage, particularly on behalf of their spouses, children or ascendants.
The ministers will first make a preliminary asset declaration. It will be up to the President of the Court of Auditors to inform the Secretary General of the Government of the names of the ministers who have fulfilled this duty. Those who have so far evaded this obligation will be summoned to regularize their situation.
After the new ministers, it will be the turn of the new parliamentarians to declare their assets.
