Insurance Fraud Ring Uncovered in Rabat, Multiple Arrests Made

It all started with information gathered by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The BNPJ elements then conducted an investigation that resulted in the dismantling of a vast network of insurance fraud and the arrest of several suspects, reports Al Akhbar. A lawyer, a legal assistant and two other individuals were incarcerated in the El Arjat prison. Their trial should take place soon. Two doctors and an employee of the Civil Protection are, for their part, prosecuted on provisional release.

The BNPJ investigators discovered that this network was composed of lawyers, doctors, brokers and even an ambulance driver belonging to the Civil Protection services. It excelled in the falsification of medical certificates, the diversion of accident reports, and exploited both genuine victims of accidents and completely fictitious ones. This system allowed the network to fraudulently obtain insurance compensation.

After dismantling the network, the investigators continue their investigations. Other people involved in these fraudulent operations could be arrested.
