Injury Woes Mount: Man United’s Mazraoui Sidelined as World Cup Qualifiers Loom

Already absent at the start of the season against Arsenal due to injury, the Moroccan defender of Manchester United, Noussair Mazraoui, will also miss the match against Fulham scheduled for Sunday in the Premier League. This prolonged absence of the Atlas Lion raises concerns on the Moroccan national team side, which is preparing for decisive World Cup 2026 qualifying matches.
The Red Devils coach, Ruben Amorim, confirmed on Friday the unavailability of Mazraoui for Sunday’s match against Fulham. "Amorim had a solid team at his disposal for the reception of the Gunners, with Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui as the only confirmed absentees due to injury. The duo should again miss the Craven Cottage appointment, while the coach was questioned about the availability of André Onana," reads the English club’s official website.
Mazraoui had resumed training on July 7 after an injury sustained at the end of last season. But the Moroccan right-back of Manchester United did not participate in the Red Devils’ American tour. His situation is worrying the coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, who continues to fine-tune his list of players for the September gathering, in preparation for the matches against Niger and Zambia, counting for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
