Indonesia Seeks to Bolster Defense Ties with Morocco, Minister Says

Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Minister of Defense, received Ouadia Benabdellah, the Moroccan Ambassador to Indonesia, at his office on Friday, July 29. Military cooperation between the two countries was on the agenda.
In a statement, the Indonesian official welcomed the cooperation with Morocco. "Indonesia welcomes the good relations and military cooperation built with Morocco, which rests on three pillars," he said. These pillars are: the development of mutual trust, the strengthening of defense capabilities and the encouragement of the independence of the defense industry.
Prabowo Subianto also expressed his willingness to further strengthen defense cooperation between Indonesia and Morocco in the future. For his part, Ouadia Benabdellah said he hopes for a consolidation of diplomatic relations between the two countries in a more strategic direction in the defense and security sector.
