The incredible fake visa scam for Europe dismantled
The Royal Gendarmerie arrested on Wednesday in Salé an individual suspected of fraud with fake employment contracts. The suspect was running a "phantom consulate" targeting young candidates for emigration to Germany and Italy.
The arrest took place in flagrante delicto during a monitored meeting at a gas station near Salé. The Gendarmerie elements of Bouknadel intervened at the moment when the suspect was receiving additional money from a victim. The latter had previously received a work contract for Germany which turned out to be a simple scanned copy without any legal value, reports Al Akhbar.
The search carried out by the authorities made it possible to seize a set of compromising documents at the home of the accused. Six passports, copies of diplomas and national identities were found, as well as four falsified employment contracts. These documents, intended to facilitate departures to Italy and Germany, suggest the existence of an organized network that has made many other unidentified victims.
The profile of the arrested individual confirms a recurring criminal practice. Already known for similar criminal records, he was the subject of a wanted notice issued by the judicial police of Salé. The suspect used the staging of a "phantom consulate" to deceive young candidates for emigration and trade in fictitious job offers in Europe.
The competent public prosecutor’s office ordered the placement of the suspect under the regime of the preliminary investigation in order to unveil all the ramifications of this case. The holders of the documents seized during the operation were summoned by the investigators to deepen the investigations.
