Imprisoned Moroccan Rapper’s "Zombie" Video Surpasses 1 Million Views on YouTube

The video clip of "Zombie", the first track from the new album titled "Sarout" by rapper Gnawi, who is currently serving a one-year prison sentence, is a hit on YouTube.

In October 2022, the court of first instance in Salé had sentenced rapper Mounir Gnawi for "multiple assaults, public drunkenness and insults against police officers in the performance of their duties". On social networks, his fans have launched the hashtag #freegnawi, to call for the release of the performer of Vive le peuple ("Aach al chaab", in Moroccan dialect).
