Moroccan Rapper Arrested for Anti-Police Rant on Social Media

The police in Salé last Friday arrested a young rapper from the city of Salé. Simo Gnaoui, his stage name, is accused of insulting police officers.
It was in a video posted on social media that Mohamed Mounir, alias Simo Gnaoui, hurled invectives at the police officers.
After watching this video, the Salé police elements went to arrest the accused at his parents’ home.
According to a police source, Mohamed Mounir is a repeat offender known for his run-ins with the law.
For now, the accused has been brought before a Deputy Prosecutor of the King near the Court of First Instance of Salé.
