IMF Forecasts 3.7% Recession and 12.5% Unemployment for Morocco Amid Global Economic Downturn

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announces a historic recession and a rising unemployment rate in Morocco in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The IMF forecasts a catastrophic year financially for major and intermediate economies. According to a recent IMF report on the outlook for the world economy, the Fund forecasts a global recession of 3%, including -5.9% in the United States and -7.5% for the euro area.
As for the Moroccan economy, which is heavily dependent on the demand addressed to it by these two zones, the Fund announces a recession of 3.7% and a rise in the unemployment rate to 12.5%.
According to the same source, GDP should rebound from next year.
