Iconic Yves Saint Laurent Villa in Tangier Sold to Fashion Designer Jasper Conran

Change of ownership for the Mabrouka villa in Tangier of the great French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who died in 2008. The proceeds of this sale will be used for charitable and cultural actions in Morocco, announces the Fondation Majorelle.
This villa acquired in the 1990s by Yves Saint Laurent and his companion Pierre Bergé has been bought by fashion designer Jasper Conran, who will undoubtedly preserve "the rich heritage of the property and contribute to the vibrant and cosmopolitan renaissance of Tangier," says the Fondation Majorelle in a statement. Morocco is not unknown to Jasper Conran, who opened a hotel there in 2016, more precisely in the heart of the Marrakech medina.
In June 2018, the Sotheby’s Paris auction house had put up for sale many objects from this Moroccan villa that Yves Saint Laurent visited several times a year and where the designer drew inspiration for some of his new collections.
It should be noted that the amount of this transaction has not been disclosed by either the Yves Saint Laurent Foundation or the new owner Jasper Conran.
