Housekeeper Accused of $215,000 Jewelry Theft from Mallorca Villa

A Moroccan woman managed to deprive her owners of precious goods worth more than 200,000 euros in the villa where she worked in Platja de Palma (Palma de Mallorca).
The facts date back to 2018, notes Ultima Hora. The Moroccan woman was recommended as a housekeeper by friends of the couple. In her daily duties, the Moroccan woman was responsible for cleaning and other tasks requested by the owners of the villa. Over the years, trust has grown. The victims did not hesitate to financially help the woman with large sums to pay the rent or to cover her basic needs.
From July onwards, the couple who reported the theft noticed significant withdrawals from their bank accounts using one of their credit cards as well as the disappearance of jewelry. The owner of the house told the police that she clearly remembers that she had a lot of jewelry in a safe inside the dresser in her bedroom. But the jewelry disappeared without the lock being forced.
In their investigation, the agents of the Platja de Palma police station realized that a large part of the stolen "treasure" was being sold on the black market. It didn’t take them long to realize that the housekeeper was behind the thefts.
