Hospital Baby Swap Scandal: Family Alleges Living Infant Exchanged for Deceased at Moroccan Maternity Ward

A live baby swap with a deceased baby is said to have occurred at the Souissi maternity hospital. The family, who believe they were deprived of their biological child, has taken the matter to court.
Following the death of Fatiha El Ouafi’s baby boy on January 26, her husband deplored this tragedy, arguing that his family was the victim of the swap of his living baby with another deceased infant in the same hospital.
To corroborate his thesis, the family father expressed doubts about the hair color of the deceased baby, which was supposed to be blond and not black, reports Barlamane. According to Fatiha’s husband, his wife attested that the infant was in good shape. He also claims that she contested the lack of resemblance between the second baby and the one she had held in her arms after giving birth.
Invited to recover the remains of his supposedly deceased son, under respiratory assistance, the father opposed it, preferring to take the matter to court. A complaint was therefore filed against the hospital, before the courts, on January 30.
