Homeless Moroccan Youth Dies at Montpellier Tram Station, Autopsy Ordered

Following the death of a 20-year-old homeless person, the Montpellier police station opened an investigation. For its part, the Montpellier prosecutor’s office ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, which occurred at the terminus of the Odysseum tram station on Monday, December 9.
The tragedy occurred at 1 a.m., in front of the tram driver and passengers, powerless. The firefighters and the nurse dispatched to the scene were unable to revive him, reported actu.fr.
Pending the autopsy that will be performed at the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Lapeyronie University Hospital, the initial examinations indicate that the young man bore no suspicious marks on his body.
The testimonies collected around the scene of the tragedy suggest that the victim had a penchant for alcohol and was using other powerful drugs. Well known to the health services, he had already been rescued on many occasions.
But who is he really? The Montpellier police know this young homeless person, who has been arrested several times for various offenses on the street. He had always presented himself as a 16-year-old Moroccan national. He said he was benefiting from the status of unaccompanied minor by the Hérault department.
More thorough checks carried out post-mortem have proven his true identity, which has also been confirmed by his family contacted in Morocco.
