Homeless Moroccan Minors in Spain Receive Aid After Week on Streets

Two Moroccan minors who had been living on the street for more than a week, specifically on the Plaza de la Paz in Puerto de Rosario, were taken care of on Saturday by the juvenile judge, in coordination with the Moroccan consulate in Las Palmas.
One of the two Moroccan minor migrants, who lost consciousness, was transferred to the Fuerteventura hospital. After seven days spent sleeping outdoors on the public highway, he is suffering from a severe gastroenteritis.
The Arenas Marroquís Association is touched by the solidarity action of the authorities. "Thank you to the institutions for their diligence. We want to express our deep gratitude to each of you for the great support in this work that we are carrying out," said the president of the collective, who took the opportunity to ask the authorities to speed up the procedures for the repatriation to Morocco of the eight adult migrants who, for the moment, have no choice but to continue living on the street. "We are still waiting for the institutions to do something and assume their responsibilities," she said.
