Homeless Man’s Death in Ceuta Sparks Community Grief

The identity of the homeless man found dead on Tuesday in Ceuta is known. His name was Mohamed, he was 46 years old and was from Fnideq.
"Around half past four in the afternoon, I found him dead in his tent. He was always sitting with us here in front of the Almadraba beach and we didn’t see him yesterday (Tuesday)," says one of Mohamed’s friends, the valet, whose lifeless body was found Tuesday in Ceuta, reports El faro de Ceuta.
According to his relatives, Mohamed was "a very noble person" who chose to "live on the street" in Ceuta for a little over 20 years and "helped and looked after all the neighbors" in Almadraba. He was very well known in the neighborhood and had "two or three older sisters" as his only family, says one of Mohamed’s acquaintances. Every morning, this "good man" went to the neighborhood shops and helped the merchants to display the goods. "He was a very good person. In the morning, he would come here, help me and I would give him something for breakfast. Then he would stay and watch the cars," declares in tears one of the Almadraba merchants.
The news of Mohamed’s death has put the entire neighborhood in turmoil. "He was a kind and caring person who has done no harm to anyone. He didn’t deserve to die like this," says a "close friend" of Mohamed, a man who will remain etched in the memory of the residents of the Almadraba neighborhood.
