Hirak Leader Zefzafi Accused of Disruptive Behavior in Moroccan Prison, Transferred to Hospital

The leader of the Hirak movement in Al Hoceima, Nasser Zefzafi, is accused by the management of the local Ain Sebaa 1 prison of "sowing trouble and anarchy through behavior contrary to the law."
The latter has, according to the prison administration, been transferred to the hospital to "receive the necessary care due to a swelling of the hand resulting from an injury that he inflicted on himself."
On Saturday, he requested care for foot pain, the administration specifies, according to which when the nurse tried to provide him with care, he threw "the care equipment and voluntarily injured himself by hitting his hand on the edge of a desk, demanding the presence of the director and the doctor and claiming that the care he received was insufficient."
Following this, several inmates refused to return to their cells and the administration "imposed order" by transferring Zefzafi to the hospital and "having the inmates enter their cells, pending taking the necessary disciplinary measures against the offenders to punish their actions aimed at sowing anarchy within the institution that houses them."
