High-Speed Mediterranean Drug Chase Leaves Two Dead, Two Hospitalized

Two Spanish nationals of Moroccan origin were killed in a high-speed chase with police in the Mediterranean. They were transporting drugs on a boat that also contained two other individuals.
The events date back to the night from Sunday to Monday, according to the local press, which reports that the Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) was chasing a Zodiac boat with four individuals on board: two young Moroccans, a Spaniard and a Portuguese. Injured, the latter two were admitted to the hospital under heavy police surveillance.
They are accused not only of drug trafficking, but also of dangerous driving and obstructing the police. Equipped with radar, the 14-meter Zodiac was powered by 4 engines with a total power of 300 horsepower.
This high-speed chase occurred just after they were detected at sea by the British police. To try to stop them, the assistance of the Spanish police was requested.
The families of the two deceased Moroccans have already been notified. The police, for their part, are calling for calm after the spread of false information about this case on social media.
It should be noted that the police did not provide any information on the exact circumstances of this accident.
