Hero in Coma After Rescuing Woman from Burning Building

While a woman is trapped inside a burning building, Farès did not hesitate to come to her aid. Unfortunately, the young man is now in a coma.
On the night of the fire, Farès, 29, a business manager and young father, was returning from a family meal when he heard a woman screaming from the burning building. He did not hesitate to enter the building to save her. After helping her get out, Farès went back into the building to check that there was no one else. It was when he was leaving the building that he collapsed, unconscious, reports Le Progrès.
Farès is currently between life and death in the intensive care unit of the Edouard Herriot hospital in Lyon. His lungs are 80% intoxicated, and his family is anxiously awaiting an attempt to wake him up. Lazim insists on his brother’s courage: "That night, my brother saved a woman’s life. And I’m sure he didn’t experience it that way. He didn’t hesitate to run into the building. He probably didn’t even think he was taking risks. Because that’s how he is: he always wants to help people. He’s a person who helps on all fronts."
The mayor of Villeurbanne, Cédric Van Styvendael, even contacted the family to get news of Farès and to apologize for previous reports that minimized the extent of the injuries. The town hall acknowledged that although the initial information reported four injured, including one seriously, they had quickly learned that all the injured were out of danger.
