New Helicopter Service to Connect Spain and Morocco, Boosting Regional Travel

The airline Hélity is finalizing the procedures to launch the helicopter air link between Cadiz (Algeciras) and the Moroccan cities of Tangier and Tetouan.
Hélity has already obtained the necessary authorizations to launch this new helicopter line which, according to CEO Antonio Barranco, "can be an opportunity for Ceuta, Andalusia and Morocco." The head of the company says he has already obtained "all the permits from the National Airports and Air Navigation Agency (AENA), the National Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), the Civil Guard and the police" on the Spanish side, also ensuring that on the Moroccan side, "everything is on the right track."
All that remains is the authorization of the Spanish Council of Ministers, which must declare the Algeciras heliport as a Schengen border, to launch this new line that will connect Cadiz to Tangier and Tetouan, reports El Faro de Ceuta. Hélity currently operates the lines connecting Ceuta to Algeciras and Malaga and recorded a total of 83,100 passengers in 2022.
The new link is particularly special as it will connect two continents (North Africa and Europe) separated by the strait and which were traditionally connected by sea. Hélity plans to provide its customers with an express freight and goods service, with all customs clearance costs included. And thanks to its partnership with iJet Aviation, exclusive transfers will be carried out, assures the CEO of Hélity.
